Welcome to CodexUse

CodexUse is a desktop control center for Codex CLI power users. Everything below is product-focused: shared Chat/Agent workflow, folder-based Projects, local endpoint tooling, no SDKs, and no framework setup.

Last updated: 2026-04-19 Current docs No API keys
What's new in current builds: Chat now has one shared Chat/Agent surface. Use Chat for everyday conversation, switch to Agent when you want CodexUse to act on the machine, and keep both separate from folder-based Projects. Start in Desktop overview or Projects & sessions.

Start here

  1. Install CodexUse on Apple Silicon macOS.
  2. Add a profile and complete OAuth login.
  3. Start in Chat, switch to Agent when you want machine help, then add a project folder when the work belongs to a repo.
Install note: Current desktop releases target Apple Silicon macOS. If you are on an Intel Mac, Linux, or an old CodexUse build at 2.5.8 or older, read the updates and installers guide before upgrading. For terminal workflows, install the CLI manually with npm install -g codexuse-cli.
