Desktop and platform support
CodexUse is built for Apple Silicon Macs. It also ships for Windows and Linux with fewer features. The app is one window with a sidebar on every platform. Accounts sits at the top and holds your OpenAI and custom-model accounts, each with its own isolated Codex home, a status word, and headroom. On macOS, Search at the top of the sidebar finds local Codex tasks across accounts and opens each one in the account that owns it. The For agents group holds Computer Use on macOS, Providers, and Account Pool. Settings at the bottom is one page with Preferences, Codex defaults, codexuse in Terminal, and Support.

Each package is built and smoke-tested on its own operating system and architecture. Nothing is cross-compiled, and a package that fails its install-and-relaunch check is not published.

One Codex window per account and Auto-roll both depend on one thing: OpenAI ships the official Codex app for macOS. CodexUse drives that app to give an account its own window and to roll work to another window. Outside macOS, CodexUse disables those controls rather than failing at them, and the rest of the app behaves the same.
Where your data lives

Accounts, settings, and local history stay on the device. App state is kept in local encrypted storage on every platform rather than in Windows Credential Manager or Linux Secret Service.
One license, any mix of platforms

Accounts
An account is an OpenAI account or a custom-model account, never a mix. Every account keeps its own Codex home with isolated auth, config, sessions, and logs, on every platform. The Accounts tab shows a status word (Open, Busy, Ready, Low, Needs sign-in, Needs setup), headroom per usage window, and refill timers. On macOS it adds one Codex window per account, Auto-roll, and Find task.
Settings & tooling
Every account follows your ~/.codex/config.toml, and a value an account changes for itself stays on that account. Codex defaults in Settings opens the file and lists the accounts that differ from it. codexuse in Terminal adds the codexuse command that ships with the app to new terminals. CodexUse protects authentication and custom-model routing values.
