Profiles & accounts
Profiles map to OpenAI accounts. Each profile keeps its own auth and config, so you can switch accounts without logging out.
Create a profile
- Click Add Profile.
- Name the profile (Work, Personal, Client).
- Complete OAuth login in your browser.
Switch profiles
Use the sidebar, tray menu, or the quick switcher (Cmd/Ctrl + K).
Refresh login
If a profile expires, click Refresh to re-auth without deleting the profile.
Profile limits
- Free: 2 profiles.
- Pro: unlimited profiles.
Move profiles to another device Pro
If you work across macOS and Linux, use Cloud Sync to push from your main machine and pull on your second machine so profiles and config are ready quickly.
Duplicate account warning
If two profiles resolve to the same OpenAI identity, CodexUse warns you because those profiles share the same rate-limit headroom.
Accounts Pool and shared headroom
Accounts Pool can expose selected profiles through one local OpenAI-compatible endpoint, but it still depends on the real headroom behind those profiles. If two saved profiles are actually the same underlying OpenAI account, the pool cannot create more quota by switching between them.
